Holland Street School
Admissions
Holland Street School is a Special Education School that specialises in the delivery of educational programs designed to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. There are specific requirements to be met to be eligible for enrolment at Holland Street School.
The process for enrolment at Holland Street School is as follows:

1. The child must have a diagnosis of Autism, Global Developmental Delay or Intellectual Disability.
2. This diagnosis must have paperwork from relevant specialists eg Paediatrician.
3. The enrolment request is then considered by the school and sent to Regional Education Office for approval by the Regional Executive Director and the Lead School Psychologist.
The Department of Education aspires for every child to unlock and fulfil their learning potential. For some children with a disability (and meet the above requirements), Holland Street School may not be the most appropriate placement, with other schools better able to meet their social, academic and/or emotional needs. Each child is considered on a case by case basis, looking at the whole child and complexity of needs.
If you would like to clarify any of the above, please contact either Lisa Criddle (Regional Executive Director), or Rachel Rutter (Principal, Holland Street School).
Enrolment Enquiry Form
Welcome to Holland Street School. Prior to further conversations about possible enrolment, we request the attached Application for Enrolment in a Western Australian Public School to be completed and submitted via email to Hollandstreet@education.wa.edu.au.

To enrol at this school your child needs to demonstrate sustained or extensive adjustments that may include high level of personal and/or medical care.

At times this school may not have a place available for new students. In this case, you will need to enrol at your local intake school, until such time a place becomes available.

Submitting an ‘Application for Enrolment’ does not guarantee you will receive a place at the school. The school will notify you in writing (email) of the outcome of your application.
Bus Transport
Buses bringing students to school have to run to a tight schedule. It is therefore requested that students be ready at their pick up points by the specified time. The Public Transport Authority has advised drivers that they are not obliged to:
-
toot the horn
-
phone in advance
-
wait for students who are not ready
-
accept messages to pass onto school
For their part, the drivers will attempt to keep as close as possible to the scheduled pickup times. Your cooperation in this matter would be appreciated.
The Public Transport Authority has responsibility for the organisation of all school buses and the contact person is Debbie Ezard (telephone 9326 2479 or email northern@pta.wa.gov.au).
Applications and changes to bus transport requirements must now be made online at the Department of Transport website - https://www.schoolbuses.wa.gov.au/
If you are unable to apply online please contact the school office for assistance.
